News on Belmont Center Zoning Project - Thursday, June 5, 2025
- On Tuesday, June 24th, the Planning Board will be sponsoring an OPEN HOUSE to be held at the Beech Street Center (266 Beech Street) starting at 6:00 pm. This event will feature a full reveal of the current draft of the Belmont Center Form Based Code (FBC) and allow citizens to ask questions and give comments. The current draft is available for review on the project website. It still requires some cleanup but the technical provisions are what should be focused on. The consultant (Able.City East) will be in attendance as will Planning Board members and staff.
- The Project Page has been updated with new information including a link to the Kingston, NY Form-Based Code, which won CNU and SGA awards as well as links to other well-regarded FBCs.
- We encourage anyone interested in the Form-Based Code tool to check out our Comprehensive Plan Project and Brighton Area Zoning Project pages. For the Plan, we anticipate FBCs will be central to zoning reform in Belmont and the Brighton project will be using the same tool.
