Update on Zoning Projects
Town Meeting Members
Work continues on three zoning initiatives - Brighton Street, the Belmont Comprehensive Plan, and Belmont Center. The Brighton Street Planning and Zoning Project has released a survey and we invite your participation. This is an exciting opportunity to reimagine the Brighton Street area of Belmont that offers an opportunity to be one of Belmont’s economic opportunity zones as it is so close to Cambridge’s Alewife and Fresh Pond areas. Please share your thoughts about what Brighton could be by filling out the survey and consider signing up for the News Flash as well. Just navigate to the bottom of the Notify Me page and click on the left icon next to the Brighton Area Planning & Zoning Project.
Also a reminder that the Comprehensive Plan survey is still open and will be through mid-July if you haven’t taken that yet. We also have a News Flash for that.
Finally, on Tuesday, June 24th the Planning Board will be sponsoring an Open House event on the Belmont Center Zoning Project. The Open House starts at 6:00 pm and will be held in the Town Hall Auditorium. Furthermore, we encourage you to attend Planning Board meetings to learn more about the zoning being proposed. Next Tuesday the consultant will be attending remotely.
Thank you for your interest in these projects and we look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event or meeting.
Best,
Chris Ryan
