CPA Projects

The Belmont Recreation Department and the Recreation Commission have a two phased approach for projects and renovations. Phase 1: Design & Review. Phase 2: Construction. To become engaged in Parks projects please attend an upcoming Recreation commission meeting. The Recreation Commission regularly uses CPA funding to improve parks and open spaces throughout the town.

Anticipated Ground Breaking: Spring 2026

The Belmont Recreation Department and the Recreation Commission have facilitated an extremely collaborative design process and are proud of what we bring forth to the town meeting in the Spring of 2025. To view the final schematic design, see our brochure below:

The details of construction will be defined by the final plan and the needs of the school and community. The working concept is to do the project in consecutive phases so that there is open space for the students to use some exterior space for recess. Our expectation is that construction will likely start in the Spring of 2026, with the intention of having the playground and sports complex complete by Fall 2026. The work on the fields will follow immediately after. This is subject to change from the needs of the project and pending partnership with a builder.  To view the Town meeting presentation, see our slides below:
